Contemplations

Started this blog ... you guessed it right ... at a hair salon because Alexa failed to follow my command of styling, blow drying and ironing my hair at home. And here I thought she would be more clued in, but alas ... I got that one wrong  That prompted me to think as to what's with us nowadays ( me included) ; no party or event is complete without the mandatory hairdo at the salon because hair is supposedly 90% of your selfie. That does make one wonder tho, as to how did we ever exist without selfies.  Since supply always comes on the heels of demand and there is more than sufficient demand, we have salons of every possible shapes and sizes mushrooming in each nook and corner of the city. Independent, franchise, luxury, national salon chains, value operating chains and our very own desi parlour, you can't possibly miss them.  Beauty comes from inside , ahhhh ; we have all heard that one and I can't be that boring to repeat what we all already know  So here's a new o...

Once you have had a wonderful dog, a life without one is a life diminished.  But first you have to have a wonderful dog that is .... Never been a dog lover until my wonderful boxer named Romeo came into my life, after much reluctance that is and subsequently going back and forth on it for nearly two years. And life changed thereafter; The most amazing thing about having a dog is, that despite the fact neither of you speak the same language , you develop such a deep connection that sometimes may not be possible with a human. Why we don't deserve dogs is because  love that they have for you is pure, unadulterated , genuine, devoid of any jealousy and without any ulterior motive which we may or may not be capable of giving them back.  Dogs understand the true meaning of gratitude, loyalty and love in it's purest and unconditional form and live by it every single day and every single way. Dogs never judge the owner, never lie or manipulate, will always welcome you with a beau...

Just read this and this is so in sync with how I feel, so here goes ...  "Today I celebrate all the women who made huge sacrifices for the cause of women and children. I honour the ones who get knocked down and rise again. I honour the men who understand that empowering women is empowering a society. Happy International Women’s Day!" Though any one day being celebrated as Women's Day is too little because a woman is meant to be celebrated every minute of every day, however keeping with the spirit, a very Happy Women's Day to all.   May you always be the heroine of your life and never the victim.

 Basically a connection between two people which brings joy or sorrow, happiness or despair. They can be either positive or negative, challenging and hard or happy and fulfilling. Few very basic relationships are family, friendships, acquaintanceship, professional, romantic, teacher / student, doctor / patient and group or community relationships. We all may already know the do's and don'ts of successful relationships but here's is a quick recap  Do's  Open communication, listening, feeling heard, trust and most of all mutual respect, bringing out the best in each other, giving space, enjoying and respecting differences and more acceptance and minimal expectations.
