Personality disorders

A personality is a combination of thoughts, emotions and behaviour that make us unique.

And a personality disorder is a type of mental disorder in which you have a unhealthy and rigid pattern of thinking, behaving and functioning. These kind of disorders are thought to be a combination of genes and our environment.

Now you can very well imagine that if you have an ailing, run down, damaging, unsound and harmful ways of thinking, behaving and basically operating, the sheer havoc it can cause in your relationships, work, surroundings and day to day activities besides your own body. One is constantly and significantly under some form of stress, pressure, tension, worry, sadness, hopelessness or anxiety in one form or the other. And being constantly there all the time, one runs the risk of burn out which is a complete depletion  of energy,  strength and mental and physical exhaustion.

There are various types of personality disorders like Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Borderline, Dependant, Histrionic Personality Disorder which if social media is to be believed, Amber  Heard (Johnny Depp's ex-wife) supposedly has.

The symptoms described above don't do full justice to the extent it can cause damage. It is a damn serious mental health disorder .. believe it or not, accept it or not, like it or not.

Also it's not gonna go away on its own just because you choose to look the other way.

Enough of the gloominess ....

The best part is " It is treatable" and there is a way out of this but one has to commit fully to the process after recognition and acceptance. Become an active participant in your care. Don't be in any form of denial. Get help in the form of a psychiatrist or a psycologist and do what has been advised diligently because your present circumstances don't determine where you can go, they merely determine where you start.

And start you must because
