The UNGLAMOROUS lives of Non Bollywood Wives

Image
First let's talk about the oh so fabulous lives of bollywood lives. Despite the trolling and negative reviews, the show featured as No 1 that is most watched show on Netflix. Reports are that Netflix has already given a green signal for the third season as well. Let's talk about what is already visible on this show; ultra glamorous women with gorgeous toned bodies dressed up in phenomenal, designer and trendy attires every single day and going about their lives in an equally  enthralling and charming fashion. Let's take a moment and witness (as if we really didn't know) the far less appealing lives of common wives ... The differences : ( stark ones)  1) While Bollywood Wives are not shown doing any kind of housework ( it's boring with a capital B), for regular wives it's a reality 24/7/365 - help or no external help. 2) Bollywood Wives don't have or atleast are not shown struggling with children's education, exam, parent teacher meeting,  skin issues, se...

Consistency

Image
We all know people who are successful in various fields and if there is one habit common in all of them, it is being focused and committed to their goals and doing activities and things to achieve that goal day in and day out. I am reminded of a quote by the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali and he said " I hated every minute of training but I said  "Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life like a champion."  On a day to day basis, from amongst the people close to me, if there is one thing that i have admired is being disciplined, committed and consistent. I have made a commitment to myself to focus on my health. Few things that being healthy involves for me are cutting down on that cup of chai (s) which I love, walk regularly which I somehow manage, strength training and stretching which I badly need and completely dislike as it entails aches and pains. Two days into strength training and getting out of that bed looks like a mammoth task. Motivation is at ...

Greed

Image
Greed is a  longing which is completely  uncontrolled for money, power, acquisition, status, wealth or fame. The desire is excessive, and often stems from selfishness and is unending. Because there is an intense desire to have everything for oneself, it certainly prevents others from having their fair share.  How many times have we seen internal rife between families due to this one aspect ?   What we have done to our environment is also a product of greed itself. The prime example of the same is twin towers coming up within Supertech Emerald Court in Noida despite several building violations because, I dare say, collective  collaboration of builder and concerned officials involved.  Real Reason : Greed .. what else !! It is absolutely bottomless as one can never be satisfied. And when I look around today, I find most of us in the same boat. From that person who collects extra parking charges to the doctor who writes a few extra tests just to be ...

Introverts vs Extroverts

Image
We all have different personality types which are not limited or restricted to being an introvert or an extrovert. But just to make it simple to understand, let's broadly curb it to down to these two personalities. While growing up also, I would be mostly happy being myself. Introverts are definately not anti-social. I feel they are just not social enough and they are happy that way.  Knowing myself very well, let me try and burst a few myths about introverts.  1) They are unfriendly and like I said earlier anti social. I can certainly vouch for the fact that they are neither. They prefer time alone but that does not make them unfriendly at all. 2) It's difficult to get to know them. That is truly not the case, but introverts prefer not to open themselves with all who prefer to small talk. They have meaningful deeper friendships and connections with a handful of people who know them quite well. 3) When one thinks of a leader , who would you imagine ? That's right ..an extro...

Mind and Body 🧠🏋️‍♀️💪

Image
Mind and body is the link between our thoughts, attitudes, behaviours and our physical health. Our emotions; anger, worry, grief, self loathing affect our body, our emotions affect our health, our emotions also affect longevity. Stressful emotions lower immunity, the healing is also much slower. I have felt my stomach tighten up whenever I am anxious, and if you have also ever felt the same, you have experienced the mind body connection. Believe it or not, our mind and our body are one. If one is affected and impacted over a considerable period of time, in this case "The Mind", the other would be impacted too which is "The Body".  On an average, we think about 70-80,000 thoughts in the day which in essence means that our brains never stop working. Out of so many thoughts, how many thoughts are on a positive note is worth pondering over. And if we were to give it a serious thought as to where all this inner dialogue, negativity, negation, rejection and criticisms fo...
