The UNGLAMOROUS lives of Non Bollywood Wives



First let's talk about the oh so fabulous lives of bollywood lives. Despite the trolling and negative reviews, the show featured as No 1 that is most watched show on Netflix. Reports are that Netflix has already given a green signal for the third season as well.

Let's talk about what is already visible on this show; ultra glamorous women with gorgeous toned bodies dressed up in phenomenal, designer and trendy attires every single day and going about their lives in an equally  enthralling and charming fashion.


Let's take a moment and witness (as if we really didn't know) the far less appealing lives of common wives ...


The differences : ( stark ones) 

1) While Bollywood Wives are not shown doing any kind of housework ( it's boring with a capital B), for regular wives it's a reality 24/7/365 - help or no external help.

2) Bollywood Wives don't have or atleast are not shown struggling with children's education, exam, parent teacher meeting,  skin issues, self confidence, peer group or other growing up issues at all. Everything is hunky Dory there. Now coming back to lesser mortals, it's a day to day issue what with watsap and other social media increasing access and visibility to everything around. 

3) Bollywood Wives holiday on their own at short notices in exotic locations within India or abroad with suitcases ( multiple ) accompanying them where as non Bollywood Wives besides thinking about the expenses of the travel, also have to think about inlaws, family, cooking, maids and much more if they plan to go out on a holiday with their girl gang.

4) Also I am still wondering as to how is it that Bollywood Wives look their utmost best at any given point of the day. And the only health issues that they seem to have are sagging skin and menopause and as for the solution we have botox and likes and designer vaginas. 

5) All Bollywood Wives in this show are respected and appreciated by their families along with getting their due recognition, acknowledgement and validation from within and outside their families. One of the most important aspects that non Bollywood Wives or the homemakers struggle with are ALL OF THE ABOVE. From what I know, they feel  being taken for granted by close family members. And if not all, atleast most of them.


Remember the movie, English Vinglish where Sridevi plays the protaganist who is a home maker and is unable to speak in English; just sharing a few memorable dialogues from that movie ;

"Family is the only one who will never make you feel small. Family is the only one who will never laugh at your weaknesses.”

"You have to help yourself. No one can help you better than you.”

Introverts vs Extroverts

We all have different personality types which are not limited or restricted to being an introvert or an extrovert. But just to make it simple to understand, let's broadly curb it to down to these two personalities. While growing up also, I would be mostly happy being myself. Introverts are definately not anti-social. I feel they are just not social enough and they are happy that way.  Knowing myself very well, let me try and burst a few myths about introverts.  1) They are unfriendly and like I said earlier anti social. I can certainly vouch for the fact that they are neither. They prefer time alone but that does not make them unfriendly at all. 2) It's difficult to get to know them. That is truly not the case, but introverts prefer not to open themselves with all who prefer to small talk. Disrespect

 I am sure everyone is aware of what disrespect means but just to break it down; disrespect is  1) to treat without respect 2) show or express contempt or rudeness 3) low regard for someone or something. 4) to disrespect someone is to act in an insulting way towards them. 5) It is actually the exact opposite of respect by acting rude, impolite or offensive. I am sure all of us have witnessed it somewhere / sometime.Being disrespected is definately not a part of healthy relationships. Let me give you an example of disrespect  in a form of put down. Radha and Ashok have been married for a while and Ashok knows that Radha always wanted to become a doctor but could not for some reasons. While they are out for dinner with the extended family, Ashok says a mean joke suggesting Radha was not smart enough to become a doctor which causes Radha to be embarrassed. (Now simply replace becoming a doctor with anything else). And that's a put down which in turn is huge part of disrespec...
